Secondary School Covid 19 plan in place.
Having successfully carried out a serious of workshops with First years, Second years, Third years and Transition years, I am pleased to say that Kada Ka Boom Arts is now facilitating Samba Drumming and Percussion workshops for secondary school students with a Covid 19 plan in place.
The aim of the plan is to reduce the risk of contamination at every stage of my workshop.
1. A large area is required to keep the social distance standards that are currently expected in secondary schools. A large common area or hall works best.
2. The time concerns are connected to wiping down chairs, instruments and sticks between sessions.
Once these two issues are taken into account by myself and the school, the workshops run brilliantly.
Everybody engages. There is a great sense of positivity among the groups. They sound great and all enjoy it.
That’s students and teachers alike.

- All students wear a mask.
- A Social Distance is kept at all times among students.
- I wear a visor and keep a social distance at all times.
- I sanitise all sticks at the start and end of each workshop.
- Each student is provided with disinfectant wipes to sanitise their own individual instrument at the end of each use.
