The Funky Pirates
With their nautical grooves and Loony tune moves.
With lots of “Arrghs!” and “Shiver Me Timbers” it’s “Anchors Away” with
The Funky Pirates.
Street entertainment of the highest order being brought to you by
Kada Ka Boom Arts.
First cousins of “The Mad Hatters”, “The Funky Pirates” are invading the streets of villages, towns and cities across Ireland with their funky grooves and interactive action. BUT BE WARNED, they take no prisoners! There’ll be high sea battles and walking of planks to be had wherever and whenever they come ashore.

This five piece Carnival drumming group are experts at splashing their fabulous colours and exciting sounds all over the coastal and inland waterways of Ireland. They are completely mobile and rarely can be found just staying in one place. Wandering up and down docksides, on and off vessels, parading, mixing and mingling their fun-loving entertainment with an events or festivals own celebration of maritime culture and adventure.
The group are made up of musicians that have a 20 year history top quality “on the street” interactive fun. In one form or another, the musicians’ performances include the last three Tall Ships visits in both Dublin and Waterford, the Galway Oyster Festival, Cork St. Patrick’s weekend festivities and loads more. In fact from Ballybunnion to Bangor, these guys have spent twenty years learning their trade and really know how to entertain.
