Kada Ka Zoom Arts workshops are up and running with Body Percussion Sessions being the first to hit the whiteboards!
How?
Courtesy of Zoom and laptop technology, Kieran appears on your classroom’s white board. Maximized as big as possible, the entire class are able to see and hear him. He, (thanks to the teacher’s laptop camera) is now also able to see and hear the class. And so, the workshop commences.
What’s involved in the Body Percussion Workshop?
Kieran takes the class through a serious of warm ups and focusing exercises. This gets everyone in the rhythmical groove. He then delivers a serious of body percussion rhythms that feature tapping anything from shoulders and bellies to stamping feet. Over a very short period of the time, the children are making the music/rhythms themselves and without the aid of any actual percussion instruments. This can be repeated over a serious of weeks building a mini repertoire of body percussion rhythms. As the sessions continue, we look at where these rhythms can be integrated into more tradition music. From nursery rhymes to street wise rapping, a wide musical genre is explored.
What else is needed?
The teacher supplies Kieran with an email address and he sets up the invitation for the Body Percussion Zoom session.
That’s it!
